house & home: dark walls

The photos above are straight from my (Carrie’s) pinterest boards. I am desperate to give our living room a face lift (honestly, I want to give it a full-fledged redo) so just watch out world (and more importantly, my husband should brace himself). Our walls are the same shade of medium tan that they were when I bought the house 7 years ago and I think it’s time for a change. The problem: I can’t settle on whether to paint them a really light neutral (i.e. white) or really dark (gray or dare i say, navy or black). So here is option 1… darker shades for consideration.
